Ever travelled to another country and witnessed the tragic state of some of the animals? You can donate to this wonderful cause that is 100% volunteer funded and staffed.
This charity is close to our heart, as one night we witnessed a dog suffering. Someone had tied a rope around it's neck as a puppy and as the dog grew, the rope became embedded in the flesh around his neck. The smell of the rotting flesh was overwhelming and the dog was suffering and would soon die a slow painful death. We made, what was thought of to be a fruitless call, to Bawa to seek help. We were very surprised that they came to rescue the dog. It took three attempts to find him and instead of euthanizing the dog, they were able to treat him.
All profit from the sale of the Bawa Dog Pendant goes to the Bali Animal Welfare Association (BAWA).
The Bali Animal Welfare Association (BAWA) is a not-for-profit charity registered in Indonesia. Our aim is to relieve suffering, control the population and improve the health of Bali's street dogs, through medical care, spay/neutering, street-feeding, puppy adoption and education of school children. Please go to www.bawabali.com for more details.
Just back from visiting Bawa in Bali. Janice was happy to receive our donation and we were thrilled to witness all the work she does. If you are ever in Bali, stop by and say hello! Here are a few photos of our latest trip.

Waiting to be old enough to be neutered. The founders, Janice and Dewa ( and a host of fantastic
volunteers!) work hard to change views on spaying and neutering the dogs and cats.

Maya is blind, but fearless and always ready for some luvin'.

After the surgery, they are also vaccinated for rabies, neutered and then adopted out.

Janice Girardi, the founder shows her love for all the animals she cares for. Amazing to
see how much work she does for the welfare of these dogs. Inspiring.

Can he come home with us?
